The Tree
A century old Hard Maple that was removed from the shoreline of Rondeau Bay.  The grain patterns were picked out specially to run along the extended arm, providing increased strength.  There are not many chunks of Maple 15 feet long and that wide.

The Tree Trunk Tour Story

  • In 2011, the Hamilton Road Area Business Assoc. developed a strategic plan to create the TTT (Tree Trunk Tour).
  • If we had no existing tourist appeal then we would just have to create some ourselves.
  • What followed was an amazing chain of events and creations, that will now number 20.
  • We call this SerindipiTree
  • We have been promoted and advertised all over the world and the TTT has become a significant tourist attraction within the City of London.

The EOA Sasquatch

  • Three years ago Bobnoxious, the East London Rock Band, recorded a self deprecating, tongue in cheek song about our neighbourhood called EOA (East of Adelaide).
  • By mentioning our Tree Trunk Tour in their lyrics, (the only good thing in the song), they created some  unique relationships that would lead to this most significant addition to our Tree Trunk Stable, from a human interest standpoint.
  • The Hamilton Road Area Business Association had been looking for ways to broaden the demographic appeal of our Tree Trunk Tour and this Sasquatch Sculpture does that big time.
  • The concept/prototype drawing was done by well known East London Tattoo artist Mike Austin. ( There is an I Love EOA tattoo on the Sasquatch’s right chest, of course )
  • To raise the $3,000 needed to fund their portion, Bobnoxious, with the help of FM96, Crowd Funded with their fans and met the goal within a week.
  • Each of the contributors and special volunteers, 246,  are listed on plaques attached to the carving.
  • The Rock-Squatch towers almost 14 feet high to the tip
  • His raised right hand, forms the famous Rock & Roll Horn sign.
  • He plays a Bobnoxious guitar
  • He stands on an upside down shopping cart, integral to the sculpture and the lyrics of the song. “Old abandoned shopping carts, EOA”
