Trafalgar Public School – Titan the Grizzly

_trafalgar-final

Nancy Tustin, principal at Trafalgar Road Public School  asked her students for some feedback and ideas for their carving.  These students had the most difficult task of all,  as they wanted their carving to include their  mascot ,  The Titan from mythology,  and our sculpture themes must all have an animal and/or wildlife component

The God Titan  was typically depicted kneeling on one knee holding the world on his shoulders.  Since the Grizzly Bear is the titan of Canadian animals, on many levels, Robbin Wenzoski has depicted a giant Canadian Grizzly doing just this.

It is carved out of one piece of solid Maple, which was obtained thru CLC Tree service here in London.
